TPI Golf Fitness / Performance
TPI golf fitness at PAR Physical Therapy begins with a comprehensive look at how your body moves and turns it into a custom program, so you move more efficiently through your swing. It is offered in Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, by Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) medical professionals, and a second program, Golf Performance, helps patients move from physical therapy into golf fitness.

Golf’s missing piece is the human body
One way golfers try to improve is by buying the latest equipment. Over the last 100 years, all that new technology has not proven successful in decreasing golfers’ overall handicap. The main thing that has not changed in the last 100 years of golf is the human body.
Golf fitness looks at your body’s specific movement patterns and designs a custom program for you. If you can move more efficiently through your golf swing, you can be more effective with your scoring.

What every golf fitness client goes through
All golf fitness clients undergo a comprehensive assessment.
Full body physical screen
Identifies your movement patterns and limitations.
3-D biomechanical swing assessment
A three-dimensional measurement of how your body moves through the swing.
Ground force mechanics assessment
How you use the ground during your swing.
Video assessment
Your swing on video, to go with the measurements.
A custom plan
Built from the results above.
You choose how you train
Small group or one on one
Train in a small group of four people, or one on one with a therapist.
Single sessions or packages
Pay by the single session, or choose a package of 6 or 10 sessions.
Alongside your golf instructor
If you already work with a golf instructor, tell us. We want to work hand in hand with them to get the most out of your results.
Two ways in
TPI Golf Fitness
For golfers who want to find the limits in their movement and train around them, starting with the full assessment above.
Golf Performance
For patients who have recently been discharged from traditional physical therapy and want to keep working toward the game they love. You are eligible whether your therapy was covered by insurance or paid in cash, you receive the same screens and assessments, and you are offered packages at a discounted rate for moving from patient to client.
Who you work with
We are not golf instructors. We are Titleist Performance Institute medical professionals who want to help golfers return to the game they love with less pain and more efficient movement patterns, and we encourage a team approach with your golf instructor, coach or surgeon.
Chris Garavito (Owner, MSPT, TPIMP) is a lifelong golfer who became a certified TPI Medical Professional and treats golfers recovering from joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs, chronic pain and overuse injuries. Each clinic, in Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet, also has a golf simulator.
Golf fitness questions
Do I need a physician’s referral?
No. In South Carolina you do not need a referral to be evaluated by a physical therapist. Ask us how golf fitness sessions are billed.
I just finished physical therapy. Can I continue with you?
Yes. That is what the Golf Performance program is for. You move with our team from physical therapy to a golf fitness program.
Can I come with a golf injury?
Yes. See sports injuries, shoulder pain, back pain and elbow pain for the problems golfers often come in with.
